Appearance Details
Flamecall is a tall, lanky cat with short, but fluffy and soft, fur. They have slightly larger than average ears, and their eyes give them the appearance of always being sad.
Their eyes are a dull, watery blue color, and there is a small mole beneath their left eye.
Their fur is ginger and they are a brindled tabby with a white underbelly, chest, paws, and the bottom half of their face. Their pelt is very well-kept and quite pretty, so they often feel at ill-ease around Dawnstar, due to her enjoyment of collecting pretty pelts.
They have a straight, erect posture, and they rarely slouch.
Personality
Basic
For a ShadowClan Warrior, Flamecall is unusually cheerful and welcoming to their clanmates, though they put up a distant, and sometimes hostile front to outsiders.
They have a quick wit, and a bit of mischief in them, but they are otherwise pleasant.
It may take some time for them to warm up to others, though they will remain friendly despite it.
They love ShadowClan dearly, and are loyal to it, though not as much to Dawnstar, though they wouldn’t dare voice that aloud.
In-Depth
Positive-
Flamecall is a very friendly cat, armed with a quick smile, to those in their own clan, and they will do their best to remain friendly with their clanmates. They try their best to assist others and do what they can around ShadowClan, catching a little prey here, fending off a loner there, the usual. They are proud to be a ShadowClan Warrior, and they do their best to fit in with the clan mold, even though it isn’t at all who they truly are.
Neutral-
Flamecall is wary of cats outside of ShadowClan, and they tend to treat them in a cold manner, and they will sometimes be downright hostile if the situation calls for it. They are a bit mischievous at times, though that has been toned down in recent moons. They take things often at face value, missing other, more important things underneath facades.
They find it hard to form connections with other cats due to their past, and they doubt they’ll ever have a family of their own. Not that they mind, they don’t need one, perhaps.
Negative-
Often, when Flamecall messes something up, whether it was entirely their fault or the fault of them and another, they tend to beat themself up for it, berating themself mentally until the problem is either resolved, or it is forgotten. They tend to not hold on to grudges, but they have a strong sense of justice, so they will take revenge on cats who they deem have wronged them. They fear they may be a horrible role model, and they often will try to make themself something they’re not, just to fit in,
Backstory
Kithood
Flamecall doesn’t recall most of their kithood, though they do remember that they had a mother, yes, and perhaps a father (Though, the tom who came to the nursery could have been a friend of their Mother’s.), and some brothers, too. Yes, they explicitly recalled that they had three brothers, big, bulky brutes who often teased Flamekit and called them a sissy for not being as big, bulky, and brutish as themselves. One of them was named Tigerkit, that they remembered. The others were lost in their memory,
Their mother left the camp one day, bringing all those big, bulky brutes with her, and left Flamekit behind in the care of whatever the tom’s name was.
Then, Mother didn’t come home, nor did the big, bulky brutes. Only Tigerkit did. Flamecall remembered that he came back bloody. Very bloody.
Flamekit and the tom (Was he their father? Flamecall didn’t know.) asked what had happened.
Twolegs. With loud sticks. Hunting.
Hunting?
Yes. Hunting.
Nothing else was said nor asked that evening.
Tigerkit died the next day. Bloody.
The tom left the day after. Gone.
Flamekit was alone. They didn’t mind, they preferred to be alone anyway. They made do. They raised themself.
They turned out okay.Apprenticeship
Flamepaw was given to a mentor, then another, because the first left the clan for a golden tabby loner.
This mentor was named Hawkbush, he was mean. He told Flamepaw that they were a horrible hunter, a horrible fighter, a horrible apprentice in general.
Flamecall doesn’t care to remember much of their apprenticeship.
They learned fast, and became a Warrior as soon as possible.Warriorhood
Flamecall was the name they were given. They liked it, it was different from Hawkbush, and different from Mother’s name. Hollyshade.
Flamecall resented Hollyshade.
Despite their awful childhood, Flamecall remains in a good humor, and they do their best to treat their clanmates as they want to be treated. They don’t care to recall their past, so it begins to fade. This, they don’t care about.
The moons passed quickly, and before they knew it, they were thirty moons old and they didn’t know where the time went. They watched Hawkbush die on a border patrol at the claws of a WindClan Warrior. They didn’t tell a soul, they didn’t care to.
About two moons later, they receive their first apprentice, and a little excitement starts to come back to their otherwise slow life. Ruepaw, that is the apprentice’s name. Flamecall hopes that they will be a good mentor.
Ruepaw soon goes missing, and even when Ruepaw was around, Ruepaw didn’t even listen to them. They never even got a chance to bond as a mentor-apprentice team.
